During this time of year, when colds and the flu are lurking on just about every surface, we all become extra precautions of our handwashing. However, if you neglect to clean your steering wheel, your hands are picking up all over that bacteria all over again. To get the job done right, all you need is a microfiber cloth and interior cleaner. Spray the cleaner directly onto the cloth, not the steering wheel itself. That way, no excess cleaner will end up behind the plastic guard in front of your gauges. If you need to put a little more elbow grease into the task, try using a scrubbing pad as well. Clean it one section at a time and scrub lightly to ensure no damage is done to the color. Also, if you’re having trouble getting through the oil on the wheel, you can also a three-to-one mixture of water and an all purpose cleaner.
