The Mazda CX-9 has been selected as a finalist for both the 2017 World Car of the Year Award and the 2017 World Car Design of the Year. If this vehicle takes home the win it will be the second year in a row that a Mazda vehicle has claimed both of these awards with the Mazda MX-5 Miata receiving both those titles in 2016. “We couldn’t be more honored to have CX-9 recognized for two World Car of the Year categories,” said Masahiro Moro, president and CEO, Mazda North American Operations (MNAO). “Last year was a magical moment for the entire Mazda family when MX-5 won, and we’re proud to be among the small number of vehicles voted to the finalists lists from markets all over the world.” The second-generation version of this model was first released last Spring. Mazda North American Operations has proven, once again, that they are at the top of their game when it comes to producing and delivering a high-quality vehicle lineup to their customers in the U.S. Just recently, the Mazda brand received their second consecutive “Best Car Brand” title from U.S. News & World Report. According to the publication, the Mazda brand beat out their competitors for the second time due to the “well-made interiors and driving dynamics” offered in the vehicles in the Mazda lineup. The Best Vehicle Brands winners are determined based on the results of an evaluation of all the different vehicles offered by each brand.
