Driving on winter roads can be tricky, especially in Queensbury, Glens Falls, Saratoga, Clifton Park, and Albany, NY. Staying safe through cold snaps and a polar vortex takes preparation and should start with your tires. Following the tips below can help ensure that you and your vehicle drive safely into the Spring.

  1. Put your snow tires on as soon as the temperature consistently drops below freezing.
  2. The cold will cause you to lose air pressure, be sure to check it monthly.
  3. When you’re not using them, store tires in a cool, dry, dark place.
  4. Only use snow chains on packed snow
  5. Before getting on the road, plan your route, check the road conditions and while you’re driving, do your best to avoid hazards like potholes.
